Radio Books is an initiative of deBuren in association with Klara, Radio Netherlands World Service (RNW) and VPRO Radio. Radiobooks are stories by Dutch and Flemish authors and read on commission to deBuren. The stories do not appear in print but they are broadcast once only on the radio where they can be heard as podcasts - a digital radio broadcast - via This summer there were more than 100,000 downloads of stories.

At the end of 2007 the Radiobooks library will comprise more than fifty stories. You can hear the previously recorded stories on

In collaboration with RNW, the Radiobooks are also read and translated into French, English, Spanish, Indonesian and Papiamento. Moreover, the translated Radiobooks are broadcast worldwide and will also be available online.

This autumn, it will be possible to listen to the Radiobooks other than on the internet. For many years now the CJP has been bringing young people and culture closer together. In association with deBuren they are now also presenting literature in audio form.
