Niña Weijers shortlisted for the Gouden Boekenuil 2015
Written by deBuren on 25 February 2015
Dutch citybooks author Niña Weijers' novel De consequenties (The consequences) was just shortlisted for the prestigious literary prize Gouden Boekenuil 2015. For citybooks Ghent, following Annelies Verbeke, Karl Schlögel, Ángeles Caso en Wim Brands, she will be residing in the Arteveldestad for two weeks to submerge herself in the city's rich historical past. Next to her nomination, another novel, a collection of short stories, a biography and a collection of essays made it on the shortlist for the Gouden Boekenuil 2015. Mark Schaevers, with the Felix Nussbaum biography Orgelman (recently presented at deBuren), is the only Flemish writer who made the last selection. The other Dutch nominees are Jeroen Brouwers with Het hout (listen to his Dutch Radio Book Datumloze dagen), Joost de Vries with Vechtmemoires and Rob van Essen with Hier wonen ook mensen.
On April 30, the official jury and the readers jury make their final decision during a festive ceremony in the KVS in Brussels.
